Digital Restoration Family heirlooms link us to our past. As time passes, improperly stored portraits can become worn, torn, tattered and damaged. JPI can restore those family treasures. What was once considered a deteriorating one-of-a-kind can become a revived piece of history that the entire family can enjoy on the walls of each of their homes. Damage can come from age, sun or light exposure, water, moisture or humidity, smoke, broken glass, or improper storage. Bring your portrait into JPI for an evaluation and advice on restoration. Prints and negatives with water damage can sometimes be salvaged at home. Read Salvaging Damaged Prints and Negatives (pdf) so you’ll know what to do in case of a home flood.

Johnson PhotoImaging invests in state-of-the-art digital lab solutions to process and print your images from film or any digital media. JPI features the Frontier 350 Digital Lab System. This high-capacity digital mini-lab delivers exceptional high-performance levels of print quality. Itís designed to work seamlessly with the Fujifilm Aladdin Digital Picture Center, a self-services offering. It scans negative and reversal (slide) films equally well in many formats and provides revolutionary print quality at high speeds. This is particularly important for prints from slides, as it produces great shadow detail and there is no build up of contrast. With this equipment, our lab technicians can perform advanced custom printing functions such as hyper-sharpness image processing and can compensate for film grain. The technology also allows each image to be inspected and adjusted individually by lab personnel giving you the highest possible quality from your slide or negative.
